Project Manager / Estimator Position

Project Manager / Estimator for Acoustical Wall and Ceiling Projects. Position involves estimating / project management from initial sales calls, quoting the project, literature and sample requests to writing the order and servicing the customer through estimating and installation. The Project Manager(s) / Estimator must have strong technical knowledge of code standards, construction techniques, and quantity surveying. They should also have the experience to handle all aspects of the bid process for very large projects, from review of plans and specifications to soliciting and negotiating prices from suppliers, through preparation of formal written proposals. The candidate must possess excellent oral, written, organizational and math skills.  Computer estimating and scheduling software experience is desirable.

Full time position Monday through Thursday 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. & Friday 7am to 12 noon. Skinner Interior Systems, Inc. offers a friendly, caring working environment, paid holidays, health, life insurance and dental benefits.

Requirements / Education:

Current Computer Skills in Windows 95 or 98 including MS Office 2000 with  Word and spreadsheet applications, data entry experience.

High level of analytical and logic skills.

Detail orientated.

bullet

Ability to work well under pressure of deadlines.

bullet

Excellent written and verbal skills including a good command of English.

bullet

Customer service experience.

bullet

Blueprint reading and construction experience a plus.

bullet

College degree or some college a plus.

bullet

Ability to work on a team and seek help from others/give help to others.

bullet

Mature and caring attitude mixed with a strong work ethic.

Job Responsibilities

bullet

Taking incoming sales and customer service calls throughout the day.

bullet

Helping customers and clients with customer service and technical problems.

bullet

Quoting projects on our customized spreadsheet. Being able to analyze the data and give proper and timely quotes.

bullet

Taking literature and sample requests from customers and sales representatives and ensuring that they are sent on a timely basis.

bullet

Writing orders using our custom forms for the production area to fill. This includes understanding the products we make and how they work in the field and using logic and analysis to write the orders properly. It also involves ordering materials and verifying that materials are available and scheduling the job through the shop.

Following through with customers to make sure they are satisfied with the products and service they received.

bullet

Working on the project management "team" that has been established. Working closely with others to ensure all information concerning projects and products, the industry's latest, the competition, etc. is shared with the "team".
